WOODSTOCK, GA -- Greenprints Alliance's flagship fundraiser will return for its eighth year of spreading awareness of plans to build trails in and around Woodstock.

The eighth-annual event will be held Saturday, May 6 at the Elm Street Cultural Arts Village Event Green on Market and Elm streets.

The event is adjacent to the popular Noonday Creek Trail, a roughly 1.5 mile multi-use concrete path. The day’s events include outdoor activities, live music, food, beer and community.

The Plae Hard 5K and Fun Run will kick off the day’s festivities early in the morning. These out and back races utilize the scenic Noonday Creek Trail, and awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers and overall age group finishers.

The 1-mile Fun Run is for children under 12 years of age. Registration details will be announced soon.

Following the conclusion of the race, a mountain bike-inspired event will take place at Olde Rope Mill Park with SORBA Woodstock. Before the music ensues, organizers will introduce a new community bike share program through Zagster.

Trailfest continues at 1 p.m. on the Event Green with an exciting, diverse lineup of up-and-coming original artists. Kicking off the event is downtown Woodstock-based Aquashade, followed by Paige Hargrove, The Bitteroots, The Georgia Flood, Josh Roberts and the Hinges.

Headlining this year's event will be Dexateens, an Alabama rock-and-roll band.

Greenprints Alliance is a Woodstock-based nonprofit organization that advocates for and funds green infrastructure projects as part of the award-winning Greenprints Master Plan of trails around the city and Cherokee County.

The event is free to enter thanks to partners, but there will be opportunities for attendees to donate or get involved with the organization.

Festivities run from 8 a.m. until well into the evening. Parking is available all around downtown Woodstock.
